Description

Central and Eastern Europe today represents a very important agricultural basin. But the exit from a planned and collective economy has seriously disrupted production and the agricultural sector. For 30 years, these have been reinventing themselves, responding to opportunities rather than a strategy. However, we note a successful Czech Republic in organic farming, Poland which is a major producer of apples, Serbia champion of red fruits, Croatia well placed in Mediterranean products (fish and fruit) or Romania, the leading producer of corn. On the other hand, if today large French agrifood groups are already present in the territory, agrifood processing has developed unevenly. Tomorrow, the logistical challenges, the rise of sustainable agriculture and the European orientations (Green New Deal), will offer new perspectives, driven by increasingly shortened supply chains and will promote local agrifood processing, in particular for regional products. . We therefore invite you to a round table on the major trends in agrifood processing in the region, including industry professionals, representatives of mass distribution, farmers and producers, to understand the dynamics of this industry and recognize how the localization of food processing is: • a food security issue for Europe in terms of product availability • a facilitator of consumer access to processed products • a premise for sustainable development • a source of economic stability • a vector of quality and development of labeled products Rendezvous on June 17, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am (CET) in the presence of our speakers: • Retailers • Agri-food industry • Input suppliers • Establishments • Financing companies
