The French enter the top 10 foreign travelers to Croatia

The positive signals from the start of the summer have been confirmed for Croatia, which has posted a positive record of this crucial season in more ways than one. In August 2021, Croatia recorded 4.3 million tourist arrivals and 30.7 million overnight stays, 59% more arrivals and 46% more overnight stays compared to the same period last year. These figures are all the more encouraging as they represent 86% of arrivals and 93% of overnight stays in August 2019, the record year in terms of the number of tourist arrivals for the country, underlines the Tourist Office.

For the first time, French tourists even figure among the top 10 foreign travelers to Croatia in terms of arrivals, in ninth place after Germans, Slovenes, Poles, Austrians, Czechs, Hungarians, Italians and Slovaks.

“This summer, the figures recorded are very satisfactory,” comments Daniela Mihalic Durica, director of the Croatian National Tourist Office. We still have several weeks ahead of us and, according to the announcements of our main partners who have decided to continue and even increase their production on the destination such as Fram / Promovacances, Top of Travel, Travel Europe, Volotea, Voyamar and Transavia, we can expect a very positive post-season. " The top 3 favorite Croatian destinations for the French remain the same as in 2019. Just like two years ago, French travelers favored the region of Split, then that of Dubrovnik and finally the region of Istria, notes the TO of Croatia.
